Positive Alternatives to Dangerous and Destructive Decisions (PADDD) provides live online prevention classes for individuals who need to complete an educational program related to traffic violations, impaired driving, reckless driving, or other dangerous driving behaviors.

Monday Evening Live Class

After-work online class
A convenient weekday evening option for participants who prefer a live classroom experience after work or school.

What You’ll Learn

PADDD’s prevention program is taught by experienced professionals who have personally witnessed the consequences of dangerous driving decisions.

The class focuses on crash prevention, impaired driving awareness, and the real-life consequences of reckless behavior behind the wheel.

Four-Hour Program Overview

First Hour

Introduction & Law Enforcement Perspective
Police officers review Maryland driving laws, dangerous driving behaviors, and the legal consequences of impaired, distracted, aggressive, and reckless driving.

Second Hour

EMS & Emergency Response Perspective
EMTs and paramedics explain how serious crashes impact victims, families, and emergency responders through real-world rescue and trauma response experiences.

Third Hour

Medical Perspective & True Stories
Nurses and medical professionals discuss trauma care, hospital treatment, life-changing injuries, and the lasting impact dangerous driving decisions can have on individuals and families.

Fourth Hour

Survivor Stories & Prevention Strategies
Recovered patients and family members share personal experiences related to serious crashes. Participants also learn positive injury prevention and safer driving strategies moving forward.

Live Online Class Requirements

All PADDD live classes are held online using GoTo Meeting. Please download and install the app here: https://www.goto.com/download

Participants are required to:

  • Attend the full four-hour session
  • Remain visible on camera during class
  • Use a laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone with camera and microphone capability
  • Participate respectfully throughout the session

Participants should be seated at a table, desk, or sofa during class. Attendance while driving is strictly prohibited.

PADDD staff monitor attendance throughout the program to verify participation for court documentation purposes.

Before Your Class

After registration:

  • Payment is required to hold your seat
  • Instructions and meeting links are emailed the evening before class
  • Participants should log in approximately 30 minutes before class begins
  • If using a phone or tablet, download the GoTo Meeting app before class

Court Letters & Completion

PADDD completion letters are issued after successful participation in the full live session.

Because the review process takes place during the live class, there is no additional paper or follow-up phone review required after class completion.

Maryland courts statewide accept PADDD completion letters.
